Trimurti Shatak Mahotsav to celebrate art, literature and music
To commemorate birth anniversaries of three stalwarts from Marathi literature, art and music, late P L Deshpande, late Sudhir Phadke and late G D Madgaokar, Srujan Samwad, an organisation working towards promoting culture and social change is organising ‘Trimurti Shatak Mahotsav’ from Friday, January to Sunday, January 20 at Institute Menezes Braganza (IMB), Panaji.
Prior to the formal function, on January 18, a photography exhibition of over 250 photographs bearing the autograph of artist Prakash Pawar will be inaugurated at 11 a.m. Pawar has been a photographer who has extensively covered the art and culture scene in Goa, clicking photographs of renowned artistes who have performed here. The chief guest for the exhibition will be former MLA, Panaji and vice chairman GSIDC, Sidharth Kuncalienker, while the deputy director of the Department of Art and Culture, Ashok Parab will be the guest of honour.
The main event will be inaugurated at 5 p.m. by chief guest, Minister of Art and Culture, Govind Gaude in the presence of playwrights, Suresh Khare and Prasad Sawakar who work in the field of music and drama. The welcome song will be performed by children from a special school from Ponda, followed by drama presentation by some top Marathi actors.
On January 19, there will be a talk on literature and the contributions made by P L Deshpande, Sudhir Phadte and G D Madgaokar. On January 20 there will be a musical concert titled ‘Trivani’ that will feature around 23 musical compositions.
