Holy mass with the breaking of the Word of God and special prayers for the sick will be held at the Sanctuary of St Joseph Vaz, Sancoale, on October 12.

The first mass is at 7 a.m, followed by the prayer service before the Blessed Sacrament, which begins at 7.45 a.m. The second mass begins at 9 a.m, after which the prayer service resumes and ends by 11.30 a.m.  The third mass is at 4 p.m at the oratory room of St Joseph Vaz.

Friday being a significant day in the life of St Joseph Vaz, the patron of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, the above mentioned prayer service for the sick is conducted on every second Friday of the month. Catholics as well as people of different faiths claim to have been healed of both spiritual and corporal infirmities and that their prayers have been answered through the intercession of St Joseph Vaz.

On other Fridays of every month (first, third and fourth), masses are as follows: 7 a.m and 8.45 a.m at the Sanctuary and 4 p.m at the oratory room of St Joseph Vaz. Sick are prayed over on these Fridays, from 10 a.m to 12 noon. The exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is held at the Sanctuary for silent adoration on every first Friday of the month, from 6 p.m to 8 p.m, which concludes with the solemn blessing of the sacrament.

Childless couples, pregnant mothers and sick children are prayed over on every third Sunday of the month after 9 a.m mass. Sunday anticipatory mass is held on every Saturday at 6.15 p.m in English.

Sunday masses are held at 7 a.m and 9 a.m and weekday mass at 7 a.m. Priests are available at the Sanctuary on every Wednesday for confessions and spiritual guidance (counselling) from 9 a.m to 12 noon.
