Prayer service for sick at Sancoale



A holy mass with the breaking of the Word of God and special prayers for the sick will be held at the sanctuary of St Joseph Vaz, Sancoale, on August 11. The prayer service will begin at 7.45 am followed by the holy mass at 9 am. It will end by 11.30 am.

Friday being a significant day in the life of St Joseph Vaz, the patron of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, the above mentioned prayer service for the sick is conducted on every second Friday of the month. Catholics as well as people of different faiths claim to have been healed of both spiritual and corporal infirmities and that their prayers have been answered through the intercession of St Joseph Vaz.

On other Fridays, masses will be at 7 am and 8.45 am at the sanctuary and 4 pm, at the oratory room of St Joseph Vaz. Sick are prayed over on first, third and fourth Friday of every month from 10 am to 12 noon.

Childless couples, pregnant mothers and sick children are prayed over on every third Sunday of the month after 9 am mass. Sunday anticipatory mass is held on every Saturday at 6.15 pm in English. Sunday masses are held at 7 am and 9 am and weekday mass at 7 am.

The exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is held at the sanctuary for the purpose of silent adoration on every first Friday of the month from 6 pm to 8 pm. It concludes with the blessing of the sacrament. Priests are available at the sanctuary on every Wednesday for confessions and spiritual guidance (counselling) from 9 am to 12 noon.
