Paid public holiday on April 23

Panaji: Being the polling day for the general election to the House of the people (Lok Sabha), 2019 and by-election to the three assembly constituencies of Goa, April 23,which has been declared as a public holiday, will also apply and be available to the registered voters of the poll-bound areas even if they are working outside the territorial limits of such areas, notwithstanding whether or not such voters belong to central or state government offices, central/state government undertakings or other entities.

The government has declared April 23 as a public holiday throughout the state.

The aforesaid holiday will be a paid holiday to the workers and establishments such as industrial workers, daily wage workers of the government departments and state government industrial department, commercial and industrial workers of private establishment in the state of Goa, all private establishments and daily wage/casual workers employed in any business, trade industrial undertakings or any other establishments.
