‘Modi has made sincere efforts to eradicate poverty from India’
Vasco: Stating that the BJP-led government at the Centre made serious efforts to develop the necessary infrastructure in the state, for the last five years of its tenure, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called upon the people of Goa to vote for BJP candidates,thereby paving the way for Narendra Modi to become the prime minister for the second time, with a clear mandate, thus fulfilling the dream of former chief minister the late Manohar Parrikar to make ‘New Goa’ in the next two years.
Fadnavis was speaking at the public meeting held in Vasco on Thursday evening in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Panchayati Raj Minister Mauvin Godinho, Urban Development Minister Milind Naik, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, South Goa BJP candidate Narendra Sawaikar, Mormugao Municipal Council chairperson Kritesh Gaonkar, deputy chairperson Shashikant Parab, former forest and environment minister Rajendra Arlekar and others.
Speaking further, he said that the Congress party has now woken up with fresh assurances to free India from poverty, and called upon the people not to fall prey to Congress and its other alliance partners.
He said that Modi has made sincere efforts to eradicate poverty from India in his five years’ tenure.
“By 2022, Modi intends to provide shelter to all. In its rule of over 60 years, the Congress failed to provide shelter, thus making the people strive for homes,” he added.
He said that the Prime Minister Modi intends to launch a pension scheme for the farmers, and added that “India will be the first country in the world to give pension to farmers.”
He criticised the Congress for its failure to initiate action against terror outfits after the 26/11 attack in Mumbai.
“Modi is the only Prime Minister who acted strongly against terrorists. The surgical strike in 2016 and the recent Balakot air strike following Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir are courageous acts,” said Fadnavis.
The Prime Minister Modi has given freedom to the armed forces to act against terrorists.
He said that the Congress is making hue and cry over the plans to abolish Article 370 and Article 35A.
“One thing is now clear that after America and Israel, India is the third nation in the world to act and counter terrorism,” said Fadnavis.
Sawant while addressing the gathering said that the administration in Goa is on a right track.
He assured to resume mining in the state, and urged the people to support the BJP in order to create New India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi in the next five years.
The others who spoke on the occasion included Panchayati Raj Minister Godinho, Urban Development Minister Naik, Vasco MLA Almeida, South Goa BJP candidate Sawaikar, former forest and environment Minister Rajendra Arlekar and others. The function was compered by Jayant Jadhav.
