Luizinho emphasises on unity in party
VASCO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Luizinho Faleiro said that there is a need of forming ‘mahagatbandhan’ among Congress leaders and workers in the state and not with other political parties for the forthcoming assembly election.
Faleiro claimed that the all block, district and frontal organisations besides 14 departments of the Congress are getting ready for the election, without alliance with other political parties in state.
Faleiro was speaking to the media on the occasion of Mahila Melava, organised by the Vasco Block Mahila Congress Committee at Tourist Hall. The meeting was attended by the Leader of the Opposition Pratrapsingh Rane, former chief minister Ravi Naik, former South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha, Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee president Sunita Verenkar, Vasco Block Congress Committee president Vishal Naik, Vasco Block Mahila Congress Committee president Sucheta Shirodkar, and others. Faleiro said that as per the survey conducted by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ACCIA), the ramponkars, mundkars, farmers and workers in India are suffering due to imposition of heavy tax by the government. He informed that the Congress has decided to pay house-to-house visits and listen to the voices of the people.
“The BJP government in the state during the last over four and half years of its tenure has only been merchant of dreams to the people, and the ground reality is that the people are fed up with the BJP and its governance,” he added. He also said that Vasco was the bastion of Congress and the party would put in hard efforts to win back the seat with majority votes.
