SS Dempo College wins women inter college cricket

PANAJI: SS Dempo College, Cujira defeated Don Bosco College, Panjim by 10 runs, to win the womens Inter College Cricket Championship organized by Goa University at University ground, Taleigao Plateau. Batting first Dempo scored 165/1 with Saisha Naik and Diksha Amonkar scoring 79 and 51. In response Don Bosco fell short and finished with a score of 156/5.

 

Agnelo brace gives Cansaulim a ticket to semis

MAJORDA: A brace of goals by Agnelo D’Souza and a goal by Veegan Ferrao enabled CAC, Cansaulim to register a convincing 3-1 win against Sao Jose de Areal and enter the semifinals of 30th St Rock’s Super Soccer match played at St Rock’s grounds, Majorda on Thursday. Cansaulim went into the lead in the 16th minute through Agnelo D’Souza. Veegan thereafter buttressed the lead for Cansaulim team when Chedwick D’Souza sent pass to find the mark in the 24th minute. Cansaulim scored their third goal quite early on in this half after as Agnelo D’Souza completed his brace. Sao Jose de Areal managed to pull a goal back three minutes before the final hooter through Alton Camotio.

 

Candolim SC make their way into quarters

GOA VELHA: Candolim Sports Club defeated CDJ Ribandar 2-0 to move into the quarter finals of the 13th London Trophy 2019 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and played at Goa Velha Sports Club ground. Candolim SC surged ahead earlt through Anand Madgaonkar who beat the Ribandar keeper Elesh Shirvoikar with a deft placement into the net off a Canute D’Souza pass. In the 31st minute Anand Madgaonkar scored his brace as he lobbed the ball over the onrushing Ribandar keeper Elesh Shirvoikar’s head to make it 2-0 in favour of Candolim SC. Aniket Agarwadekar, Aniket Naik, Siddhant Kalangutkar of Candolim SC and Krishnanath Shirodkar of CDJ Ribandar were cautioned by the match referee Rohidas Bhomkar.
