Letting imagination run wild
The closing ceremony of ‘A World of My Own’ children’s art exhibition curated by Chaitali Morajkar, witnessed hundreds of parents, relatives and friends of the young artists featured coming together.
The ceremony began with a walkthrough by Chaitali Morajkar and all the artists along with chief guests, Dilip Borkar and Vasudev Valawalkar.
Speaking at the valedictorian ceremony, founder director of MOG, Subodh Kerkar spoke on the importance of art in one’s lives. All participating artists were given a certificate to recognise their efforts in creating a wonderful exhibition at MOG.
The exhibition was visited by over 600 students from schools and residential homes such as Green Meadows, El Shaddai Shelter and School, Sacred Heart Jesus and others.
There were workshops on art, craft, theatre and reading held on each day. MOG art facilitator, Blandina Noronha; theatre artist, Arundhati Chattopadhyaya; director of Bookworm Goa, Sujata Noronha; trainer at Giant Dolls House, Louise Tenbosch; children’s storybook writer, Victoria Filina and founder of Paint Club Goa, Chaitali Morajkar created a fun, and learning environment for all children present.
‘A World of My Own’ children’s art exhibition was supported by Museum of Goa Foundation; Lions Club, Calangute and other individual donors. The exhibition aimed at promoting young talent and encouraging children to engage with art.
