GCA’s warning for players
Panaji: The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) has through a press note warned players of not being eligible for state selections if they are found participating in tournaments not recognised by the association. The GCA press release reads:
It has been observed that the performance of our state players is not to the mark because many of our state players– Ranji Trophy, U-23, U-19 and U-16 boys are playing in unrecognised T-20 tournaments and on Matting Wickets. It is also observed that boys are playing with Tennis/Rubber Ball.
The Managing Committee of Goa Cricket Association has decided that the state players registered with GCA and found playing on matting wicket, Tennis/Rubber balls and in unauthorised tournaments, will be not be considered for selection for any GCA tournament as well as to represent Goa.
All state players are hereby warned not to play on Matting wicket, Tennis/Rubber balls and should take prior permission from Goa Cricket Association before participating in any unauthorised tournament.
