Azgaonkar terms BJP re-entry as sweet homecoming

Manohar ‘Babu’ Azgaonkar, who has split from the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for which he has been rewarded with the Deputy Chief Minister’s post, on Thursday said that he has returned back home (BJP) for good and will remain with the party till the end of his political career.

Speaking to reporters, Azgaonkar said that he had joined the Congress only to leave the party and join the BJP before winning once again as MGP candidate and now he has returned back to the BJP for good and will not change for any other party.

He said that he has seen what other governments have done and what the BJP is doing in Goa and so took a decision to join the party.

He said that he had joined the MGP as it was a party representing the Bahujan Samaj on the ideology of Bhausaheb Bandodkar but today MGP is just about two persons and the party which was concerned about everybody is no more. “What happened with Lavoo Mamletdar is for everyone to see. We were never called for any meeting which forced us to merge with the BJP,” he added.

He said that the schemes by the government have reached every household and said that the BJP will seek votes in the name of departed leader Manohar Parrikar as everyone knows how much he has worked for the people adding, “The next government at the Centre will be of the BJP with Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.”
