A cultural platform for government employees
To commemorate Goa Revolution Day, Sarkari Karmachari Saunskrutik Manch (SKSM), Goa in collaboration with Directorate of Art and Culture, Goa Civil Service Association and Goa Government Employees Association will organise several competitions for the Goa government employees on June 16 and June 17 at Kala Academy Panaji. “With the aim of increasing harmony among the government employees we have decided to provide them with this platform where they can showcase their talents,” said president, SKSM, Narayan Navati at a press conference held on Tuesday. Navati ensured that the competition in no way will affect the functioning of their work or professional life. “The work will go on as usual and in no circumstance will any public office be closed owing to this event,” he said.
It was observed by the authorities that many government employees have the potential but have no platform to showcase it; hence they have developed this programme. The competition will be held across eight different events such as comedy act (group and solo), monologue, quiz competition, best out of waste, solo singing competition in Marathi, Hindi, Konkani and English, poetry recitation, drawing competition and fashion show.
Government employees can participate in any of the competitions. “The circulars, instructions and application forms have been emailed to all the offices and also been circulated through social media to all the government offices,” said secretary, Pravind Gawas. The last date to submit the duly filled forms via email to firstname.lastname@example.org is May 23.
(The two-day event will begin from 10 a.m. onwards and is open to public viewing. For details call 8668532116/7972382183)
